One of the most exciting events with which we were involved this Summer was the 20th Anniversary Party of Yemi Osunkoya, the powerhouse behind the stunning Kosibah brand
Staged within the beautiful surroundings of 116 Pall Mall, the Institute of Directors, and superbly organised by the effervescent Seyi Olusanya at Cedar Events, it was a magical evening involving a visual tour through Yemi’s archive and a fashion show of his latest collection of ballet inspired bridal dresses Bienvenue 20
Here is a little sneak look at some of the fashion show on Claire Ogden’s blog with photography courtesy of Yvonne White. Claire is a very talented jewellery and bridal accessory designer and she worked very closely with Yemi to create some unique pieces for the show
Yemi’s creative talent and eye for detail are second to none – he creates the most amazingly structural, almost architectural dresses that are apparently divine to wear and can change the shape of a woman’s body with the aid of some extremely creative corsetry and seriously boned bodices. Yemi uses materials like taffeta, tulle, organza, chiffon and handmade lace with details such as Swarovski crystals, beading, embroidery and applique to make each and every dress he designs totally unique, one of a kind, broken mould gorgeous – yes, I know they all mean the same thing but I need to emphasis how special each one is!
Funmi Omotade-Tan was present and managed to capture the essence of the evening with some lovely shots of both the dresses and the flowers that we designed with Yemi’s figure-hugging dresses in mind!Â
