This past weekend has been a crazy round of making, floralling, installing, up and down laddering, more floralling, more installing and then, sadly, uninstalling. But it has been one of the most satisfying, exciting weekends for weddings for a while. We did lots of new things, shook up some old things and had a big laugh in the process
The extensive and beautiful grounds of Adwell House, nestling at the base of the Chiltern Hills near Oxford, offered a fantastic setting for Claudia and Ed’s fantastic outdoor ceremony and marquee based reception
I only have a few photos as the pro shots will be much better but can’t resist sharing these
And all this in pretty torrential rain! Thank goodness for waterproofs and marquee roofs!

PS – the most amazing thank you from Claudia’s mum arrived yesterday, it made us both cry!
Dear Liz and Sarah
I wanted to reflect further on the simply stunning contribution you made to the wedding last Sunday. On the dull and damp afternoon that someone chose unkindly to hand out to us the flowers both over the Chuppah and in the marquee brightened the whole occasion to another level!
Everyone, with no exception, was stunned by the wonderful arrangements and we too were so delighted by our first sighting in the walled garden that we instantaneously forgot our umbrella entrance over the soggy grass. The bare chuppah had been transformed into something simply gorgeous and was the most welcoming sight for all the guests. I am so glad we did not have any more decoration down the branches as it would have detracted from the lovely array of flowers over the top and sides
Once in the marquee I was asked several times how the overhead arrangement was being watered and absolutely no-one could have guessed they were not real flowers! And as for the table arrangements, the tall displays with the beautiful soft pastel colours all melting into a picture of a country garden, exactly as Claudia wanted, so elegantly high and their stalks sitting so neatly and so visible through the glass, were just perfect. The low displays also were so pretty in their blue and white vases. We were thrilled with the effect and have received many compliments about the decorations in both the marquee and over the Chuppah
Thank you both very much – what creative, skilled and talented people you are and I am so grateful to Alex for the introduction to you both
With my sincere thanks for all your hard work and for making a very important day for Claudia and Edward into something magical
With very best wishes
