We’re all going to the zoo!!

Last June we were delighted to be involved in putting together the flowers for Katie and Justin’s wedding at London Zoo in Regent’s Park. Although very pregnant during the lead up to the wedding, Katie was absolutely certain about the look she wanted for the Mappin Room and the overall feel for the day – light and fun, with little personal touches that would make a difference when they looked back on the big day

From the lemonade table to the dessert spread, the ribbon bunting to the welcome itinerary and cupcakes – yes cupcakes on arrival!! – Katie had done a lot of planning. All we really needed to do was bring a whole host of purple, peach and green flowers to decorate this wonderful Grade II listed venue

As the couple had a little toddler already, the Zoo venue meant that he got to enjoy the day too, as the guests took a stroll around the animals between Ceremony and Reception which also gave us and the very helpful Zoo staff time to move everything around!

We used heads of fabulous purple Hydrangea, teamed with peach Miss Piggy and apricot Vuvuzela garden Roses. Then spires of purple Veronica, soft ivory Astilbe, plum coloured Sweet Peas, lilac Ocean Mikado spray Roses and fronds of Dill finished off the table and ceremony displays

It all looked amazing and was one of THE most fun weddings to work on last year – we wish our happy couple all the best and welcome baby Georgia to the family – our Blue Sky baby of 2013!

Dartmouth House wedding venue

One of my most favourite places to flower for a wedding is the wonderful Dartmouth House.. set in the heart of Mayfair, it has a lovely history and is currently the home of the English Speaking Union. But it is also a truly fabulous venue in which to get married
