Remembering 2013

Seriously … its 2014!? How did that happen – one moment we were in the middle of summer wedding madness, then it was Christmas and here we are, in a brand new year that is starting out to be as fun filled, wedding crazy and amazing as 2013. Watch this space closely!

But now, I’m going to post some belated but beautiful weddings from the last couple of years that I’ve only now managed to catch up on with new photos from their amazing photographers and testimonials from the happy couples themselves

First up is a lovely wedding at Chandos House from June 2012. I was first contacted by Amanda Ardley, an excellent wedding planner who was working with the bride Sarah to make her dream wedding a reality. They had a very clear idea of the colours they wanted to use and it was up to us to deliver the goods!
The rooms at Chandos House are a delicate palette of pastel colours and gold detailing in the cornices and stunning fireplace-topping mirrors, so we chose the palest pink Sweet Avalanche, sandy coloured Sahara and gorgeous lilac Ocean Mikado spray Roses teamed with fragrant ivory Freesia, blackberries and lime green Hypericum berries. To echo the detailing on Sarah’s dress we also incorporated some pearls into the bouquet itself and gold lace around the stems. I have to say that this is still my most favourite bouquet and features as my Facebook header photo!!

For the ceremony we dressed the beautiful mantlepieces with a simple row of ivory Avalanche Roses in clear glass bud vases and also used the same Rose heads in bowls filled with creamy pearls on the guests’ tables

This was truly an elegant, London-chic wedding captured brilliantly by the very talented Tandy Van Schalkwyk at TandyKerry and I am very grateful for being able to use her photographs here as once again my camera let me down and I’ve had to rely on the experts to capture the day – which is how it should be really!

Dartmouth House wedding venue

One of my most favourite places to flower for a wedding is the wonderful Dartmouth House.. set in the heart of Mayfair, it has a lovely history and is currently the home of the English Speaking Union. But it is also a truly fabulous venue in which to get married
