Take a letter, Miss Jones…….

Early last July saw us on one of our busiest weekends of the summer with events going on in Westminster, the West End and the City! Three very different weddings and three very different venues – Part One is a fabulous ceremony and reception at St Etheldreda’s in Ely Place and the amazing Stationers’ Hall

Andri Benson of Always Andri Wedding Design introduced me to the bride only a matter of 6 weeks or so before the wedding but such a clear idea did they both have of the look and colour they wanted that it made my life much easier! Pale lilac, soft pink and creamy ivories were the mainstay of the flower palette supported by the silvery grey hues of Eucalyptus and Senecio foliage

So we went to town – literally! Maiden’s Blush Lilac, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Viburnum Opulus, lilac coloured Delphinium, ivory Hydrangea and Ivy trails contributed to the pedestal displays for St Etheldreda’s which, having been made on site, only just fitted in the van for the shortest of journeys round the corner to the stunning room at Stationers’ Hall!

With darkly panelled walls adorned with coats of arms and beautiful stained glass windows, it formed the backdrop for this wonderfully fun wedding that absolutely rocked the vaulted ceiling until the early hours apparently photographed throughout by the incredibly talented Kat Hill

We glammed up the tables with gleaming silver candelabra and rose bowls filled to overflowing with fragrant Bowl of Cream Peony, Sweet Avalanche Roses, flowering Mint, lilac Mikado spray Roses and ivory Hydrangea. Andri’s team set out the long tables with beautifully elegant silver grey taffeta runners and grey linen napkins finished the place settings perfectly

And of course what wedding is complete without a stunning pastel macaron tower from Anges de Sucre

I have to say that even with the amount of weddings we have worked on over the past decade, this was one of the MOST stylish and beautiful with which I have ever had the privilege to be involved. Which came, I feel, from having a bride who trusted her planner, who pulled together a great team of suppliers, who put in 110% AND loved every minute of it

So R & F – we know you had a fab day, and we all hope you have a fantastic married life together xx

Dartmouth House wedding venue

One of my most favourite places to flower for a wedding is the wonderful Dartmouth House.. set in the heart of Mayfair, it has a lovely history and is currently the home of the English Speaking Union. But it is also a truly fabulous venue in which to get married
