Jubilee Wedding revisited….

No, you aren’t experiencing déjà vu! Yes, we have blogged this wedding before but have recently received new photos from Dianna and Rowland’s fantastic photographer, Aneta Mak.

This was a truly gorgeous wedding and you can now appreciate it in all its glory via Aneta’s lovely photographs. It was a frantic day, installing at 4am to avoid the closing down of the bridges and road surrounding the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant but we made it and the bride and groom were very pleased

The Ballroom at the Mandarin Oriental looked spectacular on such a lovely sunny day and Dianna’s choice of cream, taupe and vanilla flowers worked a treat. We created soft balls of hydrangea, roses and orchids on top of tall silver candlesticks for the tables, enormous Gypsophilia balls on plinths for the ceremony and precious details of silvered vases and votives everywhere with heads of peonies and roses amid twinkling candlelight

The little touches that the couple put into the wedding from the statuesque painted willow message tree to the tiny favour steamer boxes to the handmade table plan made the whole wedding very special and unique – we hope you like what you see.

Come and get your Christmas craft on

Now that the weather is turning colder #shame, and the leaves are getting decidedly browner #nice, it is time to start thinking about the big C….yep Christmas is just around the corner and if you are the crafty creative type you are in for a treat this year. Come and join me at our studio in Battersea where we will be running a series of wreath-making workshops

The session will address wiring techniques, examples of finished wreaths and the various styles that can be achieved using a variety of foliage, fir cones, cinnamon, whole oranges or apples. Materials will be provided and I will provide step-by-step demonstrations, as well as personal tuition to produce the perfect, truly unique holiday wreath for your door
Refreshments and morning pastries will be provided and participants will of course be able to take their work home with them to proudly display to friends and family. The wreaths should last right up until Christmas

The workshops, running on Sunday 3rd, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December,** from 10.30-12.30pm, cost £60 per person and are based in our creative home at the New New Covent Garden Flower Market, in all its twinkling and festive glory, a truly magical place! They would make a unique seasonal hen party or just a fun day out with friends and family

To book your place on our wreath-making workshop, or enquire about other workshops please contact Liz on liz@blueskyflowers.co.uk or call 07973 601 045
