Come and get your Christmas craft on

Now that the weather is turning colder #shame, and the leaves are getting decidedly browner #nice, it is time to start thinking about the big C….yep Christmas is just around the corner and if you are the crafty creative type you are in for a treat this year. Come and join me at our studio in Battersea where we will be running a series of wreath-making workshops

The session will address wiring techniques, examples of finished wreaths and the various styles that can be achieved using a variety of foliage, fir cones, cinnamon, whole oranges or apples. Materials will be provided and I will provide step-by-step demonstrations, as well as personal tuition to produce the perfect, truly unique holiday wreath for your door
Refreshments and morning pastries will be provided and participants will of course be able to take their work home with them to proudly display to friends and family. The wreaths should last right up until Christmas

The workshops, running on Sunday 3rd, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December,** from 10.30-12.30pm, cost £60 per person and are based in our creative home at the New New Covent Garden Flower Market, in all its twinkling and festive glory, a truly magical place! They would make a unique seasonal hen party or just a fun day out with friends and family

To book your place on our wreath-making workshop, or enquire about other workshops please contact Liz on liz@blueskyflowers.co.uk or call 07973 601 045

It’s time to deck those halls!

Now that we are on the very edge of Christmas month, it is finally okay to starting buying new decorations, getting existing ones out of their boxes and assembling this year’s Christmas ‘look’. Getting that all important theme right is so crucial … do you go achingly contemporary and minimal with a few glacial crystal drops on bare branches or for the full on, all singing and dancing, Santa hat-wearing traditional, red berried version

Either way, you need to start with your door … the literal gateway into your Christmas. So if you don’t have time to come to one of our Wreath Workshops, you need to order a pre-made one now!

We’ve have four different wreaths available, with the same fresh moss base and foliage but each with something a little unique …

Lou Lou - xmas wreath with fir cones and spruce

First up is Lou Lou, with fragrant flowering eucalyptus, pine and grevillea foliage, white eryingium thistles (not spiky), green skimmia and natural fir cones. Priced at £40 plus delivery (which depends on where you are)

Glitterball - a xmas wreath with euca pods and glitter

Next is Glitter, featuring eucalyptus, green skimmia, euca pods, berried ivy with a subtle glittery garland detail. Priced at £40 plus delivery (which depends on where you are)

Berrilicious - a xmas wreath with berries and skimmia

Welcome to Berrilicious … a fruity little number with rosehips, red skimmia, flowering and preserved eucalyptus, pine and box foliage. Priced at £40 plus delivery (which depends on where you are)

faux foliage wreath

and finally, we have Goldilocks a sumptuous mix of fresh pink foliage with faux pine, mini fir cones and anenomes (flowers used may vary) with gold sprayed grevillea and a light frosting of snow. Priced at £45 plus delivery (which depends on where you are)

All wreaths feature a fresh moss base and have a hook at the top for ease of hanging. They can be ordered via email, paid for on PayPal and the last date for ordering is December 11. P&P will be confirmed on receipt of order once delivery address is known

Watch this space …

dahlia and rosesWell – where did 2014 go! It has been an absolute whirlwind of a year for us here at BSF HQ and it hasn’t finished yet – we’ve got Christmas to get through!

We worked on more weddings than last year, created flower displays for more corporate events than last year, featured in more styled shoots than last year … and certainly had much more fun than last year

Unfortunately, the down side to the above is less time to update our website and blog about all the exciting things we’ve been doing – so please watch this space, keep in touch via Facebook, follow us on Instagram and Twitter to see and hear what we’ve been up to. I promise we will be on top on things very soon and have a lot to great information, photos and general stuff to share
