Camilla Arnhold...Photographer

When did you start in this business and what did you do before?

I have been a wedding photographer for nearly 9 years. Before this I worked in retail management which I really didn’t enjoy because I longed for more creativity in my job. I had always loved photography so decided to try and find an evening course in my area (at the time I was living in Wales). I stumbled upon a diploma course in Bournemouth, quit my job in Swansea and moved. I haven’t looked back since!

How would you describe your style?

My style is timeless, romantic and classic. I photograph with both film and digital but film photography in particular is my passion

I adore how film creates dreamy, soulful images which are full of light and emotion

What is your favourite flower?

I have so many, peonies, roses, lilac, sweet peas, I think peonies are my favourite though!

What sort of information do you need to know when meeting with a prospective client for the first time?

I just need to know that they love the look of my photography and like me as a person because really, that’s what matters most. I do love meeting prospective clients and hearing all of their exciting wedding plans

I’m always very involved in the wedding planning so love looking at mood boards and their creative vision in the run up to the wedding day

How many weddings do you handle per year and would you do more than one per weekend?

I take on between 10-15 per year to ensure that I can give each and every wedding my full attention. I do sometimes do two in a weekend if the opportunity arises but only if they are close to each other

Do you have fixed prices for shooting/albums/discs or can you tailor the package for each client?

I have a brochure with my most popular packages but I can also create bespoke package if needed

Is there anyone in the wedding industry that you particularly respect, admire or have been influenced by?

I love other film photographers like Greg Finck, D’arcy Benincosa, Perry Vaile, I find their work endlessly inspiring. There are also some wedding planners in the UK and abroad which I love to follow and work with

What is the most fun part of your job?

Attending weddings! Each and every one is so unique and I just love the all the joy and emotions of the wedding day

I always leave a wedding feeling full up with love and gratitude!

What is the most important part of your job?

Serving my clients and capturing their precious memories in a timeless style. These moments only happen once in a lifetime so it’s my job to tell the story of their special day.

What makes you laugh?

My son, Rob Brydon (the comedian) and my husband who is also Welsh!

Well I've loved finding out a little more about Camilla, I hope you have too. Do check out her instagram and website for more images of her beautiful work x
